Stressed mothers
A look behind the scenes into my practice
In my practice I often see people who completely sacrifice themselves for their family. They care, feed, arrange and keep going – until they lose themselves. The fascinating thing about homeopathy is that I not only look at the complaints, but especially at the mental state and phase of life a person is in. That is exactly what helps me choose a suitable remedy.
Let me give you three examples.
1. The sweet giver – Saccharum officinale
Imagine: a mother who is always kind and sweet. She does everything for her children, never says no, and feels guilty when she does want to do something for herself. Her greatest desire? Maintain harmony and love in the family.
But underneath that sweet exterior often lies fatigue and sometimes bitterness, because she herself is not seen enough. In such a situation I think of Saccharum officinale (sugar cane). This remedy suits people who do not feel their own boundaries and who mainly give to receive love.
2. The mass feeder – Zea mays (corn)
Then there is the woman who runs a large family. Everything revolves around taking the children to school, cooking, housework and perhaps also a job. She feels swallowed up by responsibilities and longs for a bit of freedom.
She wants the best for everyone, but notices that she no longer has room for herself. I often hear this type of stories about irritability or physical complaints from overexertion. Zea mays can be a suitable choice here: the remedy that goes with the theme “I feed the masses, but where am I?”
3. The Serving Repeater – Oryza sativa (rice)
And then there is the woman who repeats the same pattern day after day: care, cook, wash, repeat. She does it out of love and a sense of duty, but she does not feel seen or recognized. Her life seems like a ritual without end.
These are often people who say: “It's always about the others, I'm just there but no one sees me.” In such stories, Oryza sativa (rice) often resonates for me – the remedy for the servant soul who loses himself in routine.
How I choose
As you can see, it's not just about symptoms. It's about the mental color of the story:
Are you looking for love and harmony? → Saccharum.
Do you feel swallowed up by a large family or many obligations? → Zea mays.
Do you live in a repetitive routine where you are not seen? → Oryza.
By listening carefully to where someone is in his or her life, I can find the right remedy that suits their phase, mental state and life story.
This is exactly why I love my profession so much: every person tells a unique story. And the right homeopathic remedy can give just that little push that brings someone closer to themselves again.
Do you recognize yourself in one of these stories? You may find yourself giving too much, being consumed by responsibilities, or stuck in repetitive patterns. Then a homeopathic consultation can help you find more balance again.
Feel free to message me or make an appointment. Together we will look at which means can support you, so that you not only take good care of your family, but also of yourself.
